I posted earlier today asking if you had a job, a career, a
profession or a calling.
The concept of a calling is one that was “brain washed” into me
back when I was an Air Force ROTC Cadet. 🙂
We had transitioned to an all-volunteer military, so anyone
enlisting or going in as an office was doing it voluntarily.
Frankly, as I looked at the forecast job market two years before
I graduated from college, the military looked like one of my best
options for earning a decent income.
My “plan” was to go into the Air Force for 4 or 5 years, and then
get out and find a REAL job.
That stretched into 20 years + 10 months, and I did grow to think
of what I did as a calling… a purpose higher than myself!
To be psychologically prepared to lay down ones life for a
cause… a somewhat vague ideology… required that one think of
what they did as a calling… or at least not just a job!
My oath was to defend “The Constitution” against all enemies both
foreign and domestic.
That oath was never rescinded, and I just this month took a
really close look at The Constitution, and its Amendments.
Our current election fiasco caused me to really study the
constitution and amendments, and I do understand the dynamics at
Today, as I run an internet-based business my calling is teaching
people who are struggling to actually earn a livable income over
I’ve been doing that since 1996, YEARS before I retired from the
USAF in 2003 🙂
In fact, I had already created my own info products, spoken at
several seminar and hosted my own live seminar by the time that I
took off my uniform.
My current calling came into very clear focus as I watched the
Covid-19 Pandemic, and also looked at factors that contribute to
so many of us having compromised immune systems.
Since I sell information products and training, that has shifted
my focus to both marketing and teaching other to create and offer
as a much needed service, information product on ways to stem our
insane health crisis.
Cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity (especially childhood
diabetes), dementia , depression, inflammation… so many of
these are largely lifestyle diseases, and there is so much
information and recent research data available on preventing,
treating or even reversing some of these problems.
Given that so many friends and relatives have died from these
very diseases, and The Big C… I consider my new calling almost
I’m also focused more on this calling because I’m getting old
So, have you found your calling yet? I think it’s the same thing
that some mentors refer to as a “reason why!”
