Believe it or not…
This simple ad, run continuously in my recipe exchange email list FOR YEARS, with very few changes, is responsible for multiple six-figures in sales 🙂
PLEASE Visit the URL in the ad: http://chitterlings.com/cookbook.html
and you will see one UGLY webpage that works beautifully although I’m having it updated to bring it into this century 🙂
However, in-case you’re wondering why that page works so well….
1) It uses “future pacing” where I have the customer imagine what the experience will be like when they share dishes prepared using my recipes with their family and friends. I have them imagine kids sneaking back downstairs in the middle of the night to FIGHT over leftovers, and co-worker sneaking home “seconds” when they take my delicious dishes to a cover-dish gathering 🙂
2) I use lots of social proof… but need to probably add another 20-30 testimonials!
3) I offer a bonus… which I really need to replace now. The bonus is a collection of PDF cookbooks sent out on CD. The reason that I feel that I need to change the bonus is that MOST laptops sold today do not even HAVE a CD drive.
After I purchased my current laptop, I ordered an external CD drive from Amazon BECAUSE I still have a lot of files on CD and DVD that I need to access.
My thinking though is that I should probably now make my bonus access to some cooking videos.
On top of that, I should provide access to those videos online so that customers can watch them from anywhere, using ANY of their devices. This is especially important since now over 70% of my customers access the internet via their mobile devices.
By giving them access to the bonuses online, I can (and will) also set up a membership area where I can make backend offers. That’s important because with many businesses, the VAST MAJORITY of the profit is in the backend… the sales made AFTER that first purchase. At that point, you no longer have any customer acquisition costs, and resistance to making purchases should be lower because you have…. HOPEFULLY… gained their trust.
By sending them to a “Membership Area” they are also a part of something EXCLUSIVE, so they value it more.
I could STILL offer the bonus PDF cookbook collection, but have them access the PDF’s inside the membership area.
Anyway, you’ve just tapped into the mind of someone who has been selling the EXACT SAME cookbook online, very successfully, for over 20 years.
So, there may be a lessons or two that you can apply to YOUR marketing.

Also, feel free to ORDER a copy of my cookbook while visiting my webpage. That webpage, which IS being updated is at:
If you DO buy a copy, feel free to send an email BEFORE you make the purchase to my team at:
email@example.com using the subject line “Please Autograph Cookbook” and I’ll autograph it for you. I ask you to send the email first so that we don’t notice the email AFTER we have already mailed the book 🙂
In the email, please identify yourself and perhaps include the mailing address. You’d be surprised at the number of emails, and text messages, that we get where we have NO CLUE who they are from!
